Project Runway may not be moving to the Lifetime channel just yet. A New York court agreed to temporarily block the Emmy-nominated reality series from airing on Lifetime, which inked a five-year deal with the show’s producer, The Weinstein Co., earlier this year. Bravo’s parent company, NBCU claimed it’s rights were violated by the deal. “The overwhelming evidence demonstrated that The Weinstein Company violated NBC Universal’s right of first refusal to future cycles of Project Runway.” Lifetime argued the agreement was valid and vowed to continue to fight. No word on whether or not this battle will affect the next season of the reality show. (more…)
