It is now time for Dance Dance Revolution

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

I mean So You Think You Can Dance. Away goes Idol, along comes the dancers. It has been a couple of weeks since I have had a reality show full of pretties. Let Season Four of So You Think You Can Dance begin. To bad there won’t be any wardrobe malfunctions for the ladies that we get to see.

First up is Devon who just stands there waiting for her music. She starts off a bit spastics not quite connecting with the music. She seems like a talented dancer and we can nearly see up her shorts. I think she would have been better suited for Barracuda rather than Missy Higgins.

Katy likes the Italian guy and wanted to see him without the censored its censored. I am trying to decide if he is very gay or just very Italian. He is something between a porn star and old school Vanilla Ice. I may just be a bit jealous and wish I had Jonathan’s body. Mia Michaels utters the word sexual. He is very happy which is why they are only showing him from the waist up.

Sex the loser from the last two seasons is back. He is sure he has done very well and seems to be addicted to the abuse the judges hands out. Mia thinks he is improving. Mary just lays it down. Nigel thinks he just enjoys being on TV and refuses to call him Sex.

Laura Garcia is up next and is visually impaired. She has horrible music but some talent, but maybe not enough for the show. Nigel thinks she is inspirational. Mary doesn’t think her technique is good enough. Mia wants to put her through based on passion, but doesn’t have the technique.

Twitch is up next. He was up against hard competition last year with Hok and didn’t make it. Nigel informs him if he doesn’t make it to Vegas he is getting and ass kicking. He has some serious moves. He is on to Vegas.

Hamilton Moreno moves pretty well for a fat guy. He qualifies himself as a niche fat person. The judges say get fit. Russian girl Irena makes Nigel blush. The judges are glad she is having fun, but are happy to see her go.

Phillip is back from last year. Nigel asked about his improvement. Mary loved the improvement. Mia hopes he is good at everything. He will be back for the choreographer.

William says he is a traveling gypsy because it sounds better than saying I am an unemployed dancer. He moves well and the spoken word piece he used was very interesting. Nigel doesn’t think it was a great audition. He thought it was too much clever stuff, and not enough dancing. Mary thought it was lacking. Mia respected the statement. They say stick around for the choreographer.

The final contestant of the day dances in his tighty whiteys. Mary and Mia were having a good time. Nigel says not the right costume for him. Mary only wants to know why. Mia got what he was trying to do, but says no.

Here is the choreography round. Nigel sends Jonathan home. John thinks he is too beautiful to win the competition. William and Phillip are headed to Vegas.

Day Two. Erika Gee a 22 year old pretty bottle blond moves well. Nigel is enjoying the show. Mia says she has great qualities. Mary loved the performance. She is going to Vegas.

A ballroom pair of Aliona and Lioneds. I wonder why we keep getting the homely Russian girls. She has a fly body, but what great dancer doesn’t. Nigel loved her legs. Mary says hallelujah. Mia says Hot! Hot! Hot! They are off to Vegas.

Randy Lewis was doing something that I wouldn’t quite call dancing. The hip hop dancers didn’t impress. Nigel has a serious WTF look on his face. Victor Kim had some moves and gets to come back for the choreography. A masked idiot, I mean Gold Inferno, is back. Nigel just wants to make fun of him.

Ricky and Asuku are good together even if she is sick. Nigel loved it and thinks they had everything going together. Mary thought they connected. Mary too acknowledges her great legs. Mia loved the connection. The will dance again.

Carrington Payne is an aggressive soccer player. She is another good looking bottle blond. Nigel thinks she is hot too! She might be a tom boy on the field but she is sexually feminine when she dances. Nigel thinks she has a commercial that makes people smile. He thinks she danced well too. Mary says she “has it”. Mia says beautiful. The soccer chick is going to Vegas!

The last solo audition is Robert. He is a street dancer with some moves. He is a great performer from what we have seen, but can he dance or does he only think he can? He is well past his minute but so what he is entertaining. He is officially Nigel’s favorite. Mary loved the moves. He is off to vegas. I was sure there would be a kiss at the end of this. I didn’t need to see Nigel shake his ass.

Three New Movie Reviews

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

[ad]The only film I am going to show you is “No Trespassing” written by fellow blogger Holly of Menstrual Poetry.

In her own words, “This film is about child abuse, healing and having the courage to let go of your past and move on to a much brighter future.” It is a subject as a parent and survivor I take to heart. It is a good piece of work from the snippet we can watch and I look forward to the rest in May.

On a Completely different note we will switch from abuse which is often sexual in nature to the epitome of sexuality, vampires. Dimension X, distributed by Underground Film, is a campy little animated film about vampire attacks and political scandals which really are that different. It has it all famous celebrity woman, idiot love interest, who i think might be gay, money, mindless violence, and some WTF to go along with it. It was a film that deserves to be watched at least once. At this point I am unsure whether it would be better or scarier with some mind altering substances. I’ll come back to it the next time a doctor wants me to play around with anti-psychotics.

More on the undead theme from underground Film is Evil Undead Girlfriend. It is a wonderful black and white 1950-ish silly horror film, about you guessed it a evil undead girlfriend. The music is delightful and fit the film wonderfully. It is so much more than a good two and a half minute fun fest, because you will have to watch it at least twice for full full enjoyment! I particularly like the inclusion of the a White Bronco driven by a criminal…

If there is a film you would like me to include in a future post drop me a note on the contact form above.
