Family Tragedy For Idol Hudson Casting News And Spoilers

It’s a sad news day here at What’s Hot. Spoilers for ‘Til Death, Heroes and Grey’s Anatomy in this edition.

Oscar winner and American Idol alum, Jennifer Hudson is spending today in mourning. Police responded to a call last night that ultimately ended in revealing that her mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson had been fataly shot and that her seven-year-old nephew, Julian King, is missing. The police said that there was no sign of forced entry at the house, and that the shootings were the result of a domestic dispute.As of this morning, police have a suspect in custody, though they are not releasing any details. They had hoped that the suspect might have had Julian with him, but he did not. So far, no charges have been filed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer and the rest of her family. I hope that Julian is found unharmed and that the person responsible is found and brought to justice.

In other news, Crispin Glover has signed on to Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, playing the Knave of Hearts. Already attached to the project are Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway. Dan Byrd, best known for his roles as sensitive, wholesome teens on Aliens in America and Clubhouse, is coming to Heroes. Byrd has been cast on Heroes in the recurring role of David, a dark and twisted kid who tells lies easily and has a cruel streak. Word is he’ll be a possible apprentice to Sylar. He is commited to at least three episodes. Sources confirm that Nathan Lane has been tapped to play Brad Garrett’s gay brother during November sweeps on Fox’s Til Death. Will the casting stunt bring in more viewers or will it just be that, a stunt? For the second time this season on Grey’s Anatomy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s deceased Denny will descend from heaven to have a heart-to-heart with his Earth-bound soul mate, Izzie. Sources say the reason could, emphasis on could, lead to Izzie’s departure at the end of the season.
