What’s Hot coming at you with more exciting news from the world of entertainment. Spoilers for Battlestar Galactica, Grey’s Anatomy and Lost in this edition
Good news for those of you who enjoy Dexter’s killing ways. Showtime announced yesterday that it was picking up the series for another two seasons. Seasons 4 and 5 will consist of 12 episodes each, with production to commence this spring in Los Angeles. “Dexter’s enormous success is a tribute to the great achievements of its cast, the producing team, the author of the original book, and the gifted Michael C. Hall,” says Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt. “I thought at best we would attract adevoted cult audience but soon realized that, ironically, this show is so thematically rich and layered with humanity that audiences of all kinds have flocked to it.”
How I Met Your Mother star Allyson Hannigan is expecting her first child with husband Alexis Denisof according to her representative Megan Moss. The child is due this spring. The two lovebirds met while working together on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hannigan playing the powerful witch Willow Rosenburg and Denisof as Watcher Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (who went on to the spin off Angel). They were married in October of 2003. May I take a moment as a HUGE Buffy and Angel fan to wish them the best.
TV scoop! Lance Reddick was just spotted in Hawaii shooting an episode for Lost. Meanwhile, the show is casting the likely recurring role of Hal, a white dude in his 70s who can still fight the establishment and win. Grey’s Anatomy is casting an 8-to-10-year-old male patient who wants to live but is realistic about his prospects of doing so. And for those who are wondering, Kevin McKidd returns briefly this Thursday, and then in full force next week. Finally, news about the last half of Battlestar Galactica. Edward James Olmos said the show’s send-off “is like a great book. You love reading it and you want to find out what happens in the story, but you also are so sad it is ending. That’s how I feel about Battlestar. It has been a great experience for me. I don’t want it to end, but I think the ending is so strong that I am happy to have fans see it. People are going to get their minds blown.”
