Vampires The Gay Way

While Twilight was written for teens, and more precisely for teen girls to sink their good girl teeth into, the biggest following by far is fat middle aged women followed by gay men. That isn’t to say there aren’t a lot of teenage girls screaming to see Edward on the screen do some brooding. Personally, I think they would be better off watching Angel, his brooding is so much better. Personally David Boreanaz is much better on Bones than he ever was on Angel or Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS), but that is a totally different discussion. This is about brooding Edward Cullen, though I think I would have rather watched a much happier Edward Scissorhands after reading seeing the reviews.

I am not sure why so many modern vamp writers have felt the need to move away from the classic vamp traits that sprang from repressed Victorian sexuality. Whether it is do gooder Edward Cullen saving the girl with one hand and not wanting to be thanked, because doing good makes him feel all sparkly even if he is filled with teen angst and doesn’t know how to show he cares in a platonic friendly sort of way that suggest I am a vampire made for mormon sensibility. Of course the laughable part here is he just comes off in strictly anti-mormon gay way. He shouldn’t feel bad about that since he isn’t the only vamp ever thought to be gay…
