Barack Obama and the Finding of the Lapel Pin of Controversy - or Lord of the WTF

[ad]nolapelpin.jpgOnce again politicians don’t know how to pick their fights. With so many republicans shouting how unpatriotic Obama is for not wearing the flag they never once stop to look U.S. Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8, which states: “The flag should never be used as wearing apparel.” That ’s right US law says you shouldn’t wear the flag. Why, because it is considered disrespectful under the law. I however consider it a matter of free speech to wear or nor wear the flag. I have no problem with someone wearing a flag lapel pin, a stars and stripes tie, or seeing seeing a hot woman in an old glory swim suit, I also have no problem with flag burning as a means of free expression. If those are protected free speech rights, then so is not wearing a pin brandishing the flag.

If you find flag burning a disgraceful activities that denigrates the meaning of the flag and our freedoms, then you should by all rights be against any wearing of it from skidding marked flag boxers to politically divisive lapel pins. Such is the double standard of politicians. What gets even better is when U.S. Representative Jack Kingston showed up on TV to berate Barack over not wearing the damned lapel pin he wasn’t wearing his either.
