Amanda tries to pull off Back in the U.S.S.R., which unfortunately didn’t exist when most of tonight’s viewers were born. I agree with Simon assessment that she keeps throwing out the same thing at us every week. I also agree with her assessment that she is trying to give us what they would see at a show. That is authentic and strikes a chord with the indie music lover in me.

Kristy Lee Cook sings a song I am not very familiar with, You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away. I liked the performance unlike Simon.

Archuleta hopes he can remember all his words and I hope the ninety seconds he performs doesn’t seem like I am traveling down one. However 30 seconds into it I think it will never fucking end. This is horrible. The judges are loving this crap, I want to puke. If David wants to be a rock star it is time for him to start acting like it and tell the screaming gaggle of blond beauties to get it off and get it on with each other.

Michael Johns does a Day in the Life. I am not really able to say anything more than it was one of his better performances to date. Despite what the judges said I liked it.

Brooke White, who I am learning to like, will perform Here Comes the Sun. I don’t care if she wins or not I want to continue to hear her sing with simple arrangements and low key well played instruments. I think Brook could win it. This was gold. I wish she would quit being so self depricating. It is the less than total perfection that makes me love it. It shows we are dealing with real people not some computer generated single.

What will David bore me to death or worse scare the shit out of me with this week. Oh my god he is going to pull a White Snake Day Tripper. I think i need a drink. The guitar is good even if the vocals sound forced and messy. He is having fun with this and that is definitely something to be said. He wants to play rock god. Maybe he will be man enough to get the girls to take off their clothes. Paula thinks he could go sell records right now, and I think she is right. Is he good enough for Geico commercials, maybe not, but that is so easy even a caveman could do it.

Carly pulls a very ballad style of Blackbird. The arrangement is great and her voice is solid. Not her best performance, but a solid one I could stand to hear again. The red top is ugly and clashes horribly with the tattoo.

What the hell is Jason thinking choosing Michelle? The French is being sung well. but if I want to hear something in French i would load up the post I did on Black Bunny Studio the other day. I think there should have been a reggae beat into this. Simon says he is not obnoxious which is an obvious slap at Danny.

Syesha is tries to do Whitney doing Yesterday. This was horrible. As Katy says No, no, n,o no, no, no… and some more No! I can’t wait to see her go. The judges loved this, which just goes to show that Simon is right the show should be coming to an end soon.

Well here goes Chikezie. I’ve Just seen a face. It starts off really strong with rich vocals and a great melody. This could almost be country hit at the moment. I am not sure about the harmonica, but I liked it.

We are now up to the beautiful Ramiele Malubay. Will her performance be good enough to keep her in this week? That is the question of the moment since I think is is one of the three weakest links at the moment. I should have known better is something she should have known better than to sing. She has a strong start with some sexy little hip shaking. Some of her prancing about reminds me of Danny, but on the other hand as a woman she can get away with it. She does great hitting some of the big notes. I think she will be back next week.

All in all they shouldn’t have done The Beatles two weeks in a row. If they wanted to do it again they should have done it later on with fewer contestants allowing them to do the full version.
