Update - The deadlines have been extended by 1 month to accommodate all students who may be trying to finish up their end of year projects. The June deadlines below are now correct.
As an unpublished writer with a couple of completed novels under my belt and a lot of short stories that will never even be sent out for consideration I know how hard it is to get published and feel the pain of other aspiring writers. This is why I am proud to announce The Other Blogs first writing contest.
The Other Blog’s High School Short Fiction Contest, will take registrations until the end of May 2008 . Stories can be uploaded viewed and edited until June 7th. Reader voting and commenting will last until the 21st and winners will be officially announced by the 25th. Stories should be at least 500, but not more than 1500 words (as counted by MS Word) of original fiction. Fan Fiction is not allowed for this contest . I am planning a Short Fan Fiction contest once I can work out all the legal details.
