Jason Castro is starting out with Forever in Blue Jeans as his first song. This is one of my favorite Neil Diamond song’s I hope he doesn’t fuck it up. His soft voice is well suited for the song, but he starts off rather weak. With inferior audio speakers of the average TV, I am not sure you notice, but those of us who hear it with properly crossed over full range three ways will know there was something wrong.
David Cook starts off really well with I’m Alive. I enjoy he is back to being the rocker. He could have a hit with this song.
Brooke is going to play guitar with I’m a Believer. This comes out as a very country feel, but I am not sure if this will be enough to carry her. It could be a minor country hit, but I just don’t know if it is enough to carry her tonight.
Archuleta is doing Sweet Caroline which I called. He performs for the crowd well doing fluttery fingers and crotch thrusting at the teen twat on hand. He however sounds like crap and now have a lot more hope for Brooke.
Syesha is doing Hello Again and Thank the Lord for the Nightime. She sounds really well but doesn’t have the same presence she did last week. She is going barefoot which has worked for Brooke in the past based on the number of foot fetish comments I have seen.
Randy thought Cook and Syesha were in the Zone. Paula Abdul blundered by not paying any fucking attention. She thought Jason had actually sung twice and had notes for it. Simon says I am glad they had two songs and didn’t love anyone but it was hardest on Brooke. Probably good for her.
Castro’s second Song Stay With Me a While is better than his first. Katy thinks he made a lyrical mistake, but covered well. He has certainly lost something the last two weeks and
Cook is sounding better his second go round. This would work as his power ballad. With an acoustic guitar this sounded hot.
Brooke is up at the piano with I am I said. The changes she has made really worked and if there isn’t a flub this will carry here over Castro. Everyone thought she had improved and Simon didn’t give too many compliments which is probably to his benefit.
Archuleta is about to massacre America. This is an amateurish Mickey Mouse Club version. After hearing this I am ready to go to Canada. Katy is screaming NO! repeatedly. Thank go this was short. What are Randy and Paula thinking by loving this. Simon is complimenting him to try and get rid of the little shit I hope.
Syesha is closing the show. I dislike the religious connotations of this song on principal, but she is playing up her sex appeal. Thankfully someone told her to do something different with her hair the last couple of weeks, because it really improves her visual appeal which in a live performance counts for a lot. She looked and sounded good. The spam was bad again this week but I don’t think she was as bad as Simon did.
I am betting Love on the Rocks will be either the group performance or Neil’s tomorrow. Check back tomoorow night for the results from: Paula Abdul’s American Idol career should now be over with her snafu tonight.
