Daisies Not Cancelled King Of The Hill Is Cook’s Life After Idol

[ad]What’s Hot is dispelling some rumors and giving up the latest news.

Fear not Pushing Daisies fans, the show is still alive and well. ABC has not yet informed producers whether the series will end after its initial 13-episode order for the current season. In fact, show runner Bryan Fuller confirms that he has not received any word yet on the show’s fate. The current rumor being spread is that Daisies producers were told by ABC to treat episode 13 (which begins filming Monday) as a series finale, which some fans have interpreted as definitive news that the network decided to cancel the series. Not so say reliable sources. Producers have not yet been told whether they will receive a pickup for the remaining nine episodes of the current second season, and that is still a possibility. Producers have not yet been told whether they will receive a pickup for the remaining nine episodes of the current second season, and that is still a possibility. Fans have already been rallying to keep the show on the air and I’m sure that this latest news will just add more fuel to their efforts. Finish digesting this Pop Culture Pop-Tart

Two Big Announcements From Phoenix and Tennant

[ad]What’s Hot is on top of all the latest, so here we go!

Oscar nominee, Joaquin Phoenix has stunned everyone by announcing that he is quitting acting in favor of pursuing a singing career. The actor dropped a bombshell to entertainment news show Extra, announcing that his recently wrapped film Two Lovers, with Gwyneth Paltrow, will be his last. “I want to take this opportunity… also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor,” he said. “I’m not doing films anymore.” And it doesn’t seem like he’s joking either. Phoenix’s rep confirmed the news, stating, “That is what he told me.” Finish digesting this Pop Culture Pop-Tart

Was Runway Sabotaged More Iron Man For RDJ More Spoilers

[ad#post-adbrite-full-screen]What’s Hot has all the latest scoop and gossip. Possible spoilers for NCIS, Fringe and Chuck in this edition.

In the continuing saga of Project Runway, the Weinstein company has added yet another nasty layer. Papers were filed in New York federal court by Weinstein claiming they were wronged by Bravo’s intentional refusal to promote the show’s most recent Season 5 run. According to the papers, Weinstein said Bravo sabotaged both Runway’s ratings and value by running very few ads  — which were referred to as “mundane and unappealing” — and also claimed the network was far too lax with providing press info for the season premiere and/or revealing spoilers for future episodes.  Bravo’s parental unit, aka NBC Universal, released the following statement: “Not only do we categorically disagree with the Weinstein’s Co.’s assertions, but the fact is that Season 5 was the most-watched and highest-rated Project Runway cycle ever.” Either way, Runway fans are hoping this gets resolved soon. Hudson Tragedy Deepens Scoops And Spoilers

What’s Hot back again. Spoilers for Grey’s Anatomy, 30 Rock and Nip/Tuck in this edition.

Following the tragic deaths of her mother and brother, American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson got word yesterday that her nephew, 7 year-old Julian King was found dead. King’s body was discovered Monday in a Chevrolet Suburban that investigators were searching for in connection with the killings. The suspect police had detained was identified as King’s stepfather, William Balfour. Balfour has not been charged with anything as of this moment. Balfour has denied involvement in the killings, but his alibi the day of the murders has been contradicted by his girlfriend. “Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian,” her publicist said in a statement over the weekend. The thoughts and prayers of everyone here at What’s Hot go out to the entire Hudson family.

So you think you can dance? Well then drag out our dancing shoes and leotard because auditions for Fox’s same named dance show are about to begin.

Auditions for the fifth season of Fox’s increasingly popular So You Think You Can Dance will kick off Thursday, Nov. 13, in New York City. (And by “New York City” we mean “the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn.”) Additional dates and venues — Denver, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami and Seattle included — will be announced shortly. Registration at each audition site begins at 8 am. Wannabes coming from neighboring cities/states should plan on at least a two-day stay, should you get a callback.

Scoop and spoilers from TV land. Nip/Tuck: The FX drama has sewn up Desperate Housewives alum Kiersten Warren to play what promises to be one of McNamara-Troy’s more memorable patients yet: A thirtysomething stripper with breasts the size of watermelons. And that’s not her only quirk. The stripper also has severe anger issues. On 30 Rock, Salma Hayek’s soon-to-be-introduced character is getting some roots. The Emmy-winning satire is casting the role of Conception, the 70ish grandmother of Hayek’s Elisa. Circle Nov. 13 on your calendar. That’s the day AliasMelissa George debuts as Grey’s Anatomy’s newest intern, Sadie. This is noteworthy because she’s Mer’s best friend in the whole world and she’s among the newest trend in TV, hot young, professional females who like to swing both ways.
