American Idol 2-28-08

Who puked on Randy’s Shirt? Well it is confirmed Danny Noriega is this seasons Sanjaya. Thankfully Alexandréa is gone. Despite her fine ass, she just annoyed the hell out of me. They have kept my girl Kady, tonight. Unfortunately they got one of the pretty blonds. Alaina, shouldn’t be criticized for her outburst of emotion, I doubt any of us as sixteen could have done what she has done. With Robbie gone we have hope for the future that there will be no Axl Rose or Kurt Cobain impressions done in future weeks.

As always remember vote pretty, we will have to live with them for another year!

New Music Review - Basia Bulat and Bob Mould

Let’s start this week with the voice of Basia Bulat. She doesn’t have the traditional singer/songwriter vibe we hear from so many. Her sound is her own. The music is so unusually arranged that it gives way to an infectious desire to hear the next song. With guitar, ukulele, and autoharp backing the vocals and wide range of percussion keeping the beat Oh My Darling is a fabulous album, that I wish I would have found before before the US release to have those extra moments alone with her, before I had to share her with the rest of the country.

Our second album of the week is Bob Mould’s District Line. The former Hüsker Dü guitarist has given us another great collection of songs. From the electric guitars of Stupid Now which takes me back to my younger years listening to Hüsker Dü. The acoustic guitar work in Again and Again gives a great feel to the break up the song is about. My personal favorite off the album is Return to Dust with its electronic beginning taken over by hard guitars and steady percussion.

Don’t Stop Believing

This restores my faith in music videos being more than stupid bits of concert footage showing T&A. Not that I am opposed to seeing T&A unless it is Flavo Fav picking it out. My god what was he thinking naming Schatar Taylor, “Hottie”! Of course, this being Flavo Flav what the fuck was he ever thinking, he hung out with Vanilla Ice and thought that improved his street cred.
